People do not think of a photo as being an interpretation. But it is, the way it is framed, what is seen and what is cropped, what gets lightened or darkened, and why this narrow view. As with any photographer in the digital age, my photos go through an edit. I only make edits that would be equivalent to darkroom techniques. I do not Photoshop or otherwise combine images, distort, or heavily manipulate to the point that the image has no resemblance to the original. A great picture comes from a careful eye, patience, lighting, and understanding of the weather. The most important part of getting that shot is going out and being out there at the right moment.
